Brain surgery for my sister Eddy

What would you do if your brother or sister had a tumor? Would you fight for their lives? Would you do anything and everything possible to improve their quality of life? Hello, my name is Isabel and I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to read my plea for help. Today and I am fighting to help save my sister's life and to help regain her former self before she was stricken with an awful and debilitating brain tumor.

Eddysalem, the youngest of us 3 sisters, recently moved to Peru under Refugee condition. Her only goal was to find gainful employment so that she can provide for the elders back home. Upon arriving in Peru the only employment she could find was taking care of an elderly man who is in poor condition. While she did find a job it barely covered her basic living expenses. Eddysalem has an incredible and giving heart, she loves to help others in need and always puts their needs before hers. I am asking for people to help her and repay her dedication to helping others by making a small donation to help alleviate the stress and burden of her mounting medical bills.

 In May, close friends brought Eddysalem to the emergency room due to the fact that she was suffering from continuous seizures and a sensory disorder. She was under minimal medical supervision at the Cayetanos hospital in Lima without a diagnosis. We decided to move Eddysalem to Villa El Salvador hospital where the medical attention was far better. Because Eddysalem went to Peru as a refugee she does not have a medical insurance and the medical attention and care she requires is causing an incredible burden and cost that she is unable to pay for at this time.

 
·       During the time of her hospitalization the medical team found out the following:

·       She presented an Acute brain Vascular accident.

·       She has a brain tumor located in an area that is compromising the senses.

·       She is presenting high blood sugar level (Due to the tumor she is now insulin dependent).

·       Hormonal disorder.

 
As a result of the above-listed conditions, Eddysalem will require the following procedures and treatments.

 
·       Cerebral angiography to determine the consequences of an Acute brain Vascular accident.

·       She will need a surgery to remove the tumor.

·       She will need a radiotherapy because the tumor can not be removed on its entirely.


Since that diagnosis, Eddy and our family have tried to get medical care in the public sector. Sadly it has not been enough to provide the treatment that Eddy needs to regain her health. Eddy's condition continues to deteriorate, and she now needs insulin for a problem with her blood sugar levels. She is also presenting mild damage to both kidneys (due the blood sugar levels were not stabilized for a long time). We are kindly asking that anyone who takes the time to read our fundraiser to please make a donation of any size. What may feel like $5 to you will feel like $1,000 dollars to Eddysalem. Your donations will help save her life and drastically improve her quality of life. If you cannot make a donation can you please share our story with your friends and family within your social circles, perhaps someone that you know is willing to share the story further.

¿Qué harías si tu hermano o hermana tuviera un tumor? ¿Lucharías por sus vidas? ¿Harías cualquier cosa y todo lo posible para mejorar su calidad de vida? Hola, mi nombre es Isabel y no puedo agradecerles lo suficiente por tomarse el tiempo de leer mi petición de ayuda. Hoy, estoy luchando para ayudar a salvar la vida de mi hermana.

Eddysalem, la más joven de las tres hermanas, se mudó recientemente a Perú bajo la condición de Refugiado. Su único objetivo era encontrar un empleo que le garantizara mejores condiciones de vida,  así como poder proveer a nuestros padres. Al llegar a Perú, el único empleo que pudo encontrar fue cuidar a un adulto mayor  que se encuentra en condiciones de salud delicada. Con ese trabajo, apenas cubría sus gastos básicos, por lo que no fue posible contratar una poliza de salud. Eddysalem tiene un corazón increíble y generoso, le encanta ayudar a otros necesitados y siempre pone las necesidades de otros antes que las suyas. Estoy pidiendo que se le ayude y se le retribuya su dedicación por ayudar a los demás haciendo una pequeña donación y así  aliviar el estrés y la carga de sus facturas médicas.

En mayo, unos amigos cercanos de Eddysalem la llevaron  a la sala de emergencias debido a que ella sufría de convulsiones continuas y un trastorno sensorial. Ingresó al hospital Cayetano donde estuvo  bajo supervisión médica pero sin ningún tipo  diagnóstico. Se decidió trasladar a Eddysalem al hospital de Villa El Salvador, donde la atención médica era mucho mejor. 

 Durante el tiempo de su hospitalización, el equipo médico diagnosticó lo siguiente:
• Presentó un accidente vascular agudo cerebral.
• Tumor cerebral localizado en un área que compromete los sentidos.
• Ella presenta un nivel alto de azúcar en la sangre (debido al tumor, ahora es  insulina dependiente).
• Trastorno hormonal.

Como resultado de las condiciones mencionadas anteriormente, Eddysalem requerirá los siguientes procedimientos y tratamientos.

• Angiografía cerebral para determinar las consecuencias de un accidente vascular cerebral agudo.
• Ella necesitará una cirugía para extirpar el tumor.
• Necesitará  radioterapia debido a que el tumor no se puede extirpar por completo.

Desde ese diagnóstico, Eddy y nuestra familia han tratado de obtener atención médica en el sector público. Lamentablemente, no ha sido suficiente para proporcionar el tratamiento que Eddy necesita para recuperar su salud. La condición de Eddy continúa deteriorándose y ahora necesita insulina para regular los niveles de cucar en su sangre. Ella también está presentando un daño leve en ambos riñones, debido a la no estabilización de la glicemia a tiempo. Estamos pidiendo amablemente que cualquier persona que se tome el tiempo de leer nuestra recaudación de fondos haga una donación de cualquier tamaño. Lo que se siente como $ 5 para usted se sentirá como $ 1,000 dólares para Eddysalem. Sus donaciones ayudarán a salvar su vida y mejorará drásticamente su calidad de vida.
