Help for Hannah Calaway, a child w/MDS

This page has been set up to help 5 year old Hannah and her family with medical related expenses that they will incur once she begins treatment for a Bone Marrow Transplant.  Sweet Hannah is a happy, bubbly, and loving little girl who is a girlie-girl and tomboy all rolled into one.  Her smile is contagious and she makes it quite difficult to say "no" to!  She can definitely hold her own with her 4 brothers but she also loves to play princess and dress up with her girlfriends!

Hannah was diagnosed with M7 (Monosomy 7) and MDS (Myelodysplastic Sysdrome) in January 2015 by doctors at Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston.  What was initially a small worry to her parents when they observed unexplained bruising on her shins & body became fear when her blood cell counts came back abnormally low.  Eventually a bone marrow biopsy would be done and the results would lead to her current diagnosis.  M7 causes MDS,  a serious bone marrow disorder that leads to Bone Marrow Failure.  It is rare in children and if left untreated runs the great risk of mutating into AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia).   

Hannah's 4 amazing brothers wanted to be the ones to help but they were not found to be a match for her transplant and neither were her parents.

Once a donor match is found, Hannah will undergo chemotherapy and radiation and then have the bone marrow transplant followed by a minimum stay of 45 days in the hospital at Texas Children's. 

We are hoping to raise money for Hannah and her family to help with their medical related expenses such as co-pays, deductibles, child care, meals, travel to and from the hospital, along with any other expenses they may incur during this challenging journey.

Any of you who know this close-knit family can attest to their kindness and love for each other and their family and friends.  Hannah's dad, Bruce, supports the family as a small business owner with only a few part-time employees, and Hannah's mom, Silvia, works endlessly and tirelessly inside their home taking care of their 5 children and helping Bruce with their business.
