11/14 Update: My eye is healing more slowly than my surgeon would like. There’s still a lot of blood and it’s hard to tell if I’ll need a second surgery. I have a follow up appointment in a few weeks to see how it’s doing, but I’m supposed to be taking it easy. I’m back to work a few days a week, but not making nearly enough to afford my rent. 8/29 Update: The retinopathy in my left eye has been progressing, and now my retina has become partially detached. I rationed insulin for ~9 months in 2018, and there's no doubt that's impacting me now. I will have to have surgery in September and be out of work (with no pay) for at least 4 weeks.
It would be amazing to be able to make some of the accessibility upgrades to my apartment before I undergo surgery, as I will be physically more limited than usual during my recovery. Thanks again to everyone who has donated so far!

Hey y'all! My name is Zoe and I'm a queer disabled diabetic who is an organizer with Mutual Aid Diabetes (MAD). I create content for and manage our social media platforms. Recent financial stress has caused my blood sugar management to go sideways and the retinopathy in my left eye has dramatically processed.
