Help Xuan With Her Embryo Transfer

Donation protected

Hello my name is Xuan,
My husband and I are having another go at IVF.  Our first start on our journey was 5 years ago when we realized we could not get pregnant due to scared Fallopian tubes from an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the uterus).  Thanks to Reproductive Science Center of the San Francisco Bay Area in San Ramon, on August 19th 2017 we were able to birth a beautiful baby girl Amillia Gregorio.

Upon initially doing our egg(s) retrieval we had a total of 4 healthy embryos. Having one being used for Amillia, we planned to use one of the remaining 3 to hopefully give her a sibling. Fast forward to 2020 we finally were ready for another addition to the family. This time around we opted to do PGD/PGS testing, which involves an additional $3900 to biopsy an embryo to do additional genetic testing but also lets us see the genders. When we asked Amillia our daughter if she wanted a sister or brother ,she said “Brother!” . Unfortunately after getting our results back we found out all our remaining embryos were female.

My husband assured me it’s ok and let’s pull the trigger with another baby girl, i thought well what the heck why not do another egg(s) retrieval while still young. After few phone appointments, Doctor office visits ,injections of Menopur, Gonal F and Ganerellix, and $16,000 later we patiently waited for our results. God must have had another plan for us because not only did we already have 3 female embryos in the feezer, but he blesses us with another 4 female embryos. Of course my husband and i were hoping for one of them to be a boy, but it was a gamble we were willing to take.

As many may know many insurances do not cover the costs of an IVF journey. There use to be a program that assisted but they went bankrupt due to Covid. We were fortunate enough to get the medication discounted 70% off and only had to come out of pocket $1200 the second time around.

With covid happening and loss of work we were able to make ends meet by selling some of our assets/belongings, using our savings, and taking out a loan. Although we are on a fixed income but have already started the process we would love to reach out the those who have been in a similar situation and ask for a helping hand. Anything will help towards this thawing and transfer of the embryo.
