Help With Troys Leukemia Treatment and Recovery

This is long overdue. I should have done this during Troys first hospital stay but…better late than never…I’ll give some backstory for people who may not know what’s going on. Here goes…

Troy was born with Down syndrome and cerebral palsy but for the most part been happy and healthy loving life. He is 20 years old now and lives with me (his mom) his two sisters and his step dad and we love him to pieces. He’s the light of our lives.

In March Troy started to get sick but we thought it was a chest cold. When it didn’t get better Troys step dad (Allen) brought him to the er, he was very pale and his breathing was worrying us. Two days later he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia ALL for short. He spent the next 6 weeks in the hospital getting chemotherapy treatments with Allen and I taking shifts with him. We drained our bank accounts so that Allen could be out of work as long as possible. Don’t get me wrong it was worth it but to quote a famous show “winter is coming”.

Now Troy is home and getting treatments closer to home a few times a week since we aren’t out of the woods yet. He will continue treatments for at least 2 and 1/2 years and then we will be able to see where he is at that point. We are behind on medical bills and other bills, we need special equipment to make his life easier, and that’s just right now. I want this to be the only gofundme I do for him. Any help is so much appreciated.
