Help With Skye’s Cancer Treatments

Donation protected
I am making this for my Daughter, whose 5 year old Pit Bull was just diagnosed with cancer.

Timeline:
December 23rd - Skye had a biopsy of a “lump” on her foot.
December 29th - The biopsy came back that the lump is a Mast Cell tumor and she needs to see an oncologist ASAP
January 14th- Skye sees an oncologist in Las Vegas. Here is the update from the appointment:
“Good morning! This is what I found out at Skye's appointment yesterday.

She has skin cancer, which I’m finding out is common in pit bulls. They won’t be able to tell what stage the cancer is until they biopsy the tumor after surgery. But they did a lymph node test yesterday that will tell us if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes or not. If it has, that means it more high risk. They will send that off and call me next week with the results. They also did an X-ray on her lungs to check if the cancer has spread there, but it didn’t look like it had.
Since the tumor is on her foot, the only way they could get rid of all of it would be to amputate. The other option is a $2,500-$2800 surgery to just remove the surface of the tumor, then 3 weeks of radiation after that for $6,000 to get the rest of the tumor. The closest places to do that would be Phoenix, Southern California or Denver. So I’d either have to board her for 3 weeks or go with her. Radiation would get rid of it 80%.
The alternative to radiation would be 2 rounds of chemo on the foot that would be $1800 a dose and can be done in Vegas. Chemo would get rid of it 50%.

So the next step is to wait for the lymph node test and if it hasn’t spread, then we will schedule the DeBulk surgery to remove the top of the tumor.”

The appointment on the 14th itself was $1348.67. And depending what route Regan decides to take, radiation or chemo, the cost will be $6,400- $8,800.

We understand the costs that come with owning a pet, but nobody expects this to happen and she didn’t think to get insurance on Skye. Regan is a school teacher and the consultation appointment itself cost more than what she can save in a month.

If you are willing to donate even $1 to help Skye, we would forever appreciate it.
