Hi, my name is Christine DeMills. I am a mother of four kids, and the owner of Spice N Flava Restaurant & Catering in Milford CT. My husband and I decided to open this restaurant because of my passion for the kitchen, preparing exquisite Jamaican dishes for the palate. By opening the FIRST Jamaican restaurant in the Milford community, we have also created history for our kids and future generation. We depleted our savings of five years to make this happen. But now, we are struggling and is being forced to close our doors due the pandemic, hitting us really hard, leaving us with rent arrears and outstanding overhead expenses. I am unable to acquire loans and have been unsuccessful with my grant applications. I refuse to give up on my dream and so now, I am turning to you and asking for your kind and generous financial support. I worked as a CNA to save the money to start my dream business (Spice N Flava Restaurant and Catering). Because of the location and the first of its kind to be in the city of Milford to provide unique and authentic Jamaican cuisines and flavorful dishes, I know this business has great potential.
We aim to please with our authentic flavors and people from around the area love the cuisines that we prepare and serve on a daily basis. As our motto says, ‘TO LOVE IT IS TO TASTE IT, JUST TRY IT’. With that said, I am seeking financial assistance to save the legacy we have created for our family. All donations are appreciated no matter how small. My family and I don’t believe in handouts or being lazy. We believe in following our dreams by pushing and working hard to achieve our goals, but right now we need and are pleading for your help.
