Help with Roger's Vet Bills

Last week our dog Roger (8-year-old Boxer) started cancer treatment, a melanoma vaccine recommended following some skin tag biopsies. Unfortunately, during his initial screening at the veterinary cancer center the doctors discovered via x-ray that he had a tennis ball in his stomach. We then took him to a neighboring animal hospital, where doctors unsuccessfully attempted to remove the ball by way of an endoscopy (non-surgical) but ultimately had to perform surgery.

In a matter of days, along with the start of cancer treatment (estimated $5,000-$6,000 total) we had an additional bill of over $10,000 to remove the ball. The expensive melanoma vaccine was a manageable financial burden for us, but the extra cost for surgery has created significant financial stress. Though we hate to ask, we hope to raise some money from friends and family (or kind strangers? Boxer enthusiasts?) to help offset some of the costs. Frankly, we adore Roger (who we adopted in 2020) and want to get him this necessary care but could use a little financial assistance.
