Help Raise Funds to Purchase Scleral Lenses

John, Kelly and their daughter Caitlyn are a loving family who have faced more challenges than most families ever should.
In 1994 at the young age of 29, with a very small Caitlyn at home, Kelly was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She went through the treatments, fought the battle and is now 25 years cancer free.
In 2008 John was diagnosed with Chronic Maelongenous Leukemia. After trying a multitude of treatments and drugs John was not having positive results and was left with a Bone Marrow Transplant as his only option. The bone marrow transplant brought him to remission but the side effects he has lived with since are harsh. It left him with liver and kidney troubles but mainly his eyes were affected. He now has severe soft dry eyes and he needs special lenses to keep moisture in his eyes as he cannot function at all without them Unfortunately the lenses he has dig into his eyes becase of the severe dryness and it is painful and makes him feel sick. They did try an option where he has blood serum drops which come from his own blood and put through a machine and costs $250 each time. They have tried plugs in his tear ducts to relieve some of the discomfort but he is still in so much pain. Eventually the lenses he is using will damage the cornea and he will most likely go blind. The Doctors have told him his only other option are these special lenses called Scleral Lenses and that he needs them ASAP as he has Severe Chronic Graft versus host diease of the eye. This is his body fighting against the transplant and attacking his eyes. The down side to this is they cost upwards of $10,000
If this family has not fought enough battles, Kelly was recently downsized from her long time job and will be looking for work once again in the Fall. It has left them in a very worrisome situation with needing these lenses for John's quality of life.
We are asking for just a little bit of offset the cost. Every dollar of your generosity will go toward these lenses. They did not want to ask but find it so necessary that John be able to still see and not suffer the pain that he lives in with his eyes constantly.
Thank you in advance for your generous support.
