Help with Larry Hartwell’s Memorial

As many know dad has had a year of struggles and years full of amazing triumphs. Dad unfortunately fought with being terminally I’ll and lost his battle on January 10th.

As a family we have kept waiting to ask for help as it was a hard thing to do. But through the illness and financial struggles we always seemed to make it work. But now we are asking for that help if you can donate we would forever be grateful. We need help with getting dad cremated and paying for the funeral home cost and in March we will have a memorial service when the weather is more cooperative.

Dad was a giving guy who never hesitated to offer his help even when he was severely sick his joy was to give. So asking for help is difficult but we’ve also realized today that it would be necessary.

To help understand dad he had a heart transplant in 2007 and faced several challenges after ward. In 2020 dad got Covid and was deemed as one of the people that would not make it. After being on a ventilator, in a coma and having to re learn everything such as walking and daily chores we were able to bring him home in may of 2021. We still had challenges but he was home! In November after battling so many hospital stays we got the news that there was nothing left to do or help dad. His heart was failing, his liver was failing and the worst was we found out he was in stage 4 kidney failure. They gave him up to 3 months to live and he fought hard to stay independent and as proactive as he could until two days before his passing. In November we decided to have him have the quality of life he deserved to the best of our abilities including me taking off work to provide care, but the has left our finances drained between meds and his healthcare needs. We know right now everything is tough on everyone but every little bit helps. We just want this last opportunity to give dad what he truly deserves.
