Help with Kai's Medical Bills
Donation protected
Those who know me well know that I recently achieved several goals including moving my daughters out of a bad living situation (12 years in a substandard apartment) and into our first house. In doing so, we were able to get our first dog, Kai. Kai was a rescue that was listed as "urgent" due to being in a kill shelter. He is the most loving, dedicated, yet incredibly stubborn, dog you could ever meet! We've only had him since mid-September, yet I couldn't imagine our life without him. Achieving my goals took five years of hard work and dedication and I thought I went into it fully prepared. Unfortunately, some things didn't go according to plan. Kai's two hospitalizations for Aspiration Pneumonia in December, totaling over $5,000, coupled with lost work throughout Covid, continued wait for a 2019 (yes 2019)tax return and no stimulus (thanks to the 2019 tax situation), have left me in a very bad position. I regret, daily, not having chosen insurance for Kai in time. As of yesterday he will be covered for anything new that arises, but there is nothing available to help with all of the bills that I've incurred thus far. This is why I have, very hesitantly, created this fundraiser. I am the one who helps people, not the one who asks for help. I pride myself with being able to figure things out and work very hard for all that I have. However, this situation is causing great stress and strain and I cannot figure out how to unbury meself from it. I appreciate anything anyone can do to help, whether financial or sharing. For those who pray or have prayed for Kai's recovery, please continue to do so. They are not sure why the pneumonia never fully went away and we're not in the clear for at least two more weeks. Thank you so much!
