Help with Howard’s Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Howard has recently found out that he has a mass on an artery on his heart that is constricting blood flow to his heart. He will be having heart surgery at Stanford tentatively scheduled for September 12th. This is a scary surgery, even for the surgeons involved. They will be removing the mass and performing bypass surgery. We will not know what this mass is until surgery is performed.
Post surgery, Howard will be in the ICU for potentially a week and then the step down unit after that. Linda, Matt (Tess and the new grand baby), and Ben want to be there by his side but it’s expensive to either stay up in Stanford or drive back and forth, especially for that period of time.

Everyone that knows Howard, knows that he is the nicest give-the-shirt-off-his-back guy around. From the Cayucos Market to Cayucos Fire to Schooners , anywhere one can find this man, it’s a delight to be in the same room as him.
If you don’t know him, you wish you did. It will be a tough time on our little community as we send positivite vibes and prayers, waiting for his recovery.

Howard is a career firefighter with Hearst Castle Fire and has been a volunteer-now a Chief with Cayucos Fire. Before that he was in the military.
Howard has spent his life giving back to the country and his community. It’s time we give back to him and help support his family.

Note: there is a fee to donate on GoFundMe, so direct donations can be made either to me or at the station if you would rather do that.

Thanks for your ♥️ and support.
