Help with Baileys ER Vet bills

Donation protected
Hello all, my name is Michael, and I would like to introduce you to Bailey.
I have a story about what happened to her this Memorial day weekend.
It was Sunday, May 29th, at around 3 pm as I was leaving our house to run a few errands. I pull up to the stop sign at our main road. Ready to make a left-hand turn. As I sat looking at oncoming traffic, a truck blasted by me. Swerving all of a sudden, and slams on its breaks. Then coasts to a stop on the side of the road. As I pull out, I see Bailey lying in the street. I pulled my car out in front of her to block traffic and jumped out to check her condition. She was in bad shape, but no blood was coming from her mouth, nose, or eyes. which was a good sign.
The other vehicle driver that hit her got out, not knowing what to do. Another couple also stopped with a truck and helped transport Bailey to the emergency vet.
We got her admitted, and the young lady in the truck got Baileys' collar out of the road before we left. So we had the number of the owner. When he was contacted and told what had happened, that chances of survival seemed good. But, some X-rays and other tests need to be done to ensure she does.
At which point the owner said to euthanize her. That he was not that attached to her anyways. I was utterly blown back. Once you take on the responsibility of pets, they are now family, and they look to you when they need that care.
The vet explained that he needed to come down and sign off on the euthanization. When he showed up, The other couple and I talked to him in the parking lot. Expressing our thoughts on this situation. At which point he signed off Bailey's rights of care to me. I know this would be a lot to take on, financially and permanently. But, to me, it was a life and if Bailey had a chance to survive. I had to do what I could.
I also know what it is like to be hit by a car. I used to ride a fixed gear bike in Chicago, and a lady ran a red light and nailed me. I am glad they did not euthanize me for being a bit banged up.
She has some pretty bad head trauma. So the Vet did what they needed to do to get Bailey checked out. Her X-rays came back with no broken bones. She does have severe bruising to her lungs. Also had to get stitched up in a few areas because she had some bone exposed, muscle and tendons.
I called my other half to let her know what was happening and explain why I was not home yet and the situation at hand. She broke out in tears and came down to meet me at the ER with our son. I was there for about four hours before they let us back to See Bailey. She is a sweet pup. They wanted to hold her overnight because of the head trauma, which was understandable. She was just hit by a car. So we said our goodbyes and prayed for the best.

So we prepped our house for the arrival of bailey to her new home. We got a few updates in the morning on her condition. She still would not eat, but thought because of all the excitment in the er vet. She most likely would not. So they released Bailey to us at around 2pm on Monday afternoon.

We got her home and comfrotabale, and was able to get her to eat at around 530. Which we have no clue when the last time she ate was. So we where really happy.
Bailey was one lucky dog, that sittution for her could have ended badly. She has been with us now for just over 24 hours ay the time this will be posted. She is doing great she has been eating every three hours small portion of food. We have even gotten a few tail wags.
I slept with her on a small matters we had on the floor with her last night. To make sure she was going to be ok.
So I know what I was getting my self into here with Bailey. I knew things where going to be pricey, but once again can you put a price on a life. As of Now I am sitting with around four thousand in medical bill for her. With a few more to come. I am not a rich man, but do believe in doing what is right. Saving Bailey's life was the right thing to do. With that being said any help anyone wants to contirbute to Bailey medical bills would be great.
I dont expect to recover all spent, but if the goal is reached. Any extra that dose not go to Bailys medical cost will be donated to the Human Society. Thank you for your time.
