Help With Andy Wise’s Medical Expenses

Well 2020 just keeps giving. My Brother in Law, Andy Wise, hadn’t been feeling  so hot for a few weeks. Cough, chest pressure, fatigue, splitting headache, etc. With everything going on, of course we all thought it was COVID. Unfortunately, it turned out to be something much worse. Scans in the ER showed a large mass in Andy’s lung and concerning masses in the brain as well. Biopsies confirmed our worst fear and Andy was diagnosed with cancer. And not just any cancer but an aggressive likely stage IV non small cell adenocarcinoma. Now what does this mean? Andy has one heck of a fight ahead of him. Andy still has a few tests to undergo and for the University of Michigan Tumor Board to review his case before he finds out his official treatment plan. But he already has radiation scheduled to start on 12/28. He is also likely looking at chemotherapy, immunotherapy and possibly surgery on his brain. 

I never in a million years thought I would write these words but Andy Wise has cancer. This is an incredibly rough hand to be dealt and this wonderful family could really use our help with the cost of Andy’s testing, treatment, possible impending surgical procedures and travel expenses as some of this may need to be done done at U of M. 

Now Andy and my sister fought me on creating this request.. While they are the first ones to step up and help others, they are not ones to ever ask for help. Let’s show them how much we love them as friends, family and their community. We would also greatly appreciate everyone’s prayers and well wishes!  I would also like to add that we are starting a meal train if that is a preferred way to help.
