HELP WILLOW HEAL after being shot twice with air rifle pellets

 

Our beautiful Willow, went missing on Friday 17th December 2021 from our home in Rowhedge, Colchester.

 

My three children helped to leaflet drop locally and post on social media to try and find her - but there were no sightings.

On the morning of Wednesday 22nd December, Willow suddenly appeared in our back garden.  She was very weak, shaking uncontrollably and obviously injured.

 

We took her straight to the vet who x-rayed her and confirmed that not only had Willow broken her left Tibia, but she also had two air rifle bullets lodged in her left shoulder.

 

Someone in our lovely village had intentionally shot our beautiful, affectionate cat.  We believe this then caused her to fall and break her leg.

I have no words for how upsetting this news was to us all.   Who could possibly feel it acceptable to do that to a defenceless animal?

We are amazed that despite being in so much pain, Willow found the strength to find her way back home.

 

Willow was referred immediately to an orthopaedic specialist who performed surgery to fix her injuries and she came home on Christmas Eve.  

Unfortunately, the pellets could not be removed as they are deeply imbedded.

 

Willow is currently on cage rest until February but is healing well.  She continues to amaze us all with her ability to cope with the trauma and challenges she has faced.

The pet cover we have for Willow wouldn’t cover the urgent surgery costs, so we have been hit with an extremely jaw dropping vet bill at Christmas time.
