Help Wes Bennett with medical expenses
Wes Bennett has been a voice in Southern Illinois for over 30 years. You've seen him at concerts, fairs, ballgames, fundraisers and benefits, and let's not forget listening to his morning radio show, Wakin' Up With Wes. He's been all over Southern Illinois and beyond touching people's lives. Whether you were having a fundraiser, promoting your business, or a community event, there's a strong chance that Wes was there announcing, doing Facebook lives, or just supporting the people of Southern Illinois. Wes loves his community and would do anything to help someone in need and now it's our turn to help Wes.
On April 24th, 2021 after having the hiccups for over 36 hours, Wes went to the Herrin Hospital emergency room and was admitted. Numerous tests, procedures and 11 days later, Wes has been diagnosed with end stage liver failure along with bleeds in his stomach and esophagus, and AFIB. His condition has required several trips to the emergency room and several hospital stays. Doctors in Southern Illinois have done all they can and have referred him to St. Louis University Hospital. Wes has made multiple trips back and forth from SLU Hospital and have seen some of the best doctors. The doctors have concluded that there is a baseball size tumor on the back of his liver and it has made its way into his blood vessels. Unfortunately, that means the tumor is inoperable and a transplant isn’t an option. There’s further testing that needs to be done to determine what type of tumor it is and to see where it has spread too. We will update as we get more information.
All of these medical appointments, tests, procedures and medications have created a hardship and Wes needs your help. It’s time for the great people of Southern Illinois to give back to a man who has gave so much of himself for the last 30+ years. Let’s rally behind him like he’s rallied behind so many others. Every amount helps and every prayer counts.
