In April 2019, my mom had a seizure in the Orlando Airport, she was traveling alone. It was terrifying and unexpected. Upon further medical treatment, it was discovered she had a Grade 3 Glioma in her left frontal lobe. She had surgery April 17th and had 80% of the tumor removed. Post surgery, she was in a rehab facility for 2 weeks re-learning how to use the right side of her body. She had to go through 42 days of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation/5 times a week; the treatments occurred simultaneously. My mom completed treatment mid-July. It is too soon to tell if the treatment worked, so we are in a period of anxiously waiting to see if the chemo and radiation worked or not. We will know more in October.
This is my mother’s second time battling cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 36, about 14 years ago, and has been in remission for about 13. My mom is a strong, stubborn woman and I know she has the strength to overcome cancer once again. Prayers and positive thoughts are deeply appreciated. All money raised will go towards paying medical bills. Thank you.
