Help Warrior Princess Kimaya Crush Cancer!

Donation protected
This fundraiser is to support my shy, but fun-loving, family comedian, my 12 year old now 7th grader Kimaya Hart who was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer, Stage lll Immature Teratoma. There is not much research related to this type of cancer in children and one her doctors was only able to find 1 case similiar to her, but we know that no two people are the same.

Kimaya enjoys running, playing games with her friends and siblings of 5 sisters and 1 brother, and her parents. Going on trips to the mall and water parks, and playing with her puppy King

Kimaya was going to her pediatrician for approximately 1 month where she was repetitively diagnosed with a bowel impaction, prescribed meds that were suppose to work and make her stomach go back down, needless to say nothing worked I took her back with the mindset admit her because I am not trying anything else at home because nothing is working. The doctor gives order to admit to Houston Medical Center on May 29, 2020 for bowel cleanout, but no labs ordered. Kimaya finished drinking prep for cleanout nothing but extreme pain and nausea, NOW a CT scan was ordered, CT results back in 1 hour with a doctor telling me my daughter has a mass and will have to be transferred where she will receive the care she needs. My heart dropped. I am a nurse but nothing prepares you for this, nothing! Fast forward Kimaya is transported to Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital in Macon, GA where there is a team of surgeons and doctors waiting on us, we were well overwhelmed so much info so little time!
It felt like nonstop tests and scans, finally it was decided that a biopsy would not be done and that it was thought better to remove the entire mass ASAP due to most recent scans showing possibly spreading and blood tests results, surgery went as scheduled on June 9,2020, Kimaya was transferred to the PICU due to uncontrollable pain and a blood transfusion, she stayed there for 2 days!Imagine your child telling you "I just can't do it!" I encouraged her the best way I knew how and explained to her that there is nothing she can't do if she put her mind to it and believe. Though she is still recovering from that surgery, she is stronger and braver than ever!

After discharging from the hospital there have been no break, it has been visit after visit with scans, tests, and she had the surgical procedure for her port. We know she has a long road ahead but we want to be here by her side! Kimaya is now back in the hospital, she has started chemotherapy. The most recent scans results from her MRI from 06/30/2020, showed that she now has a new spot of cancer near her liver, but no surgery is happening right now due to her chemotherapy, it may be possible that she will have to be transferred out to Yale or possibly Harvard University for more treatment, it has been brought up, but we will take one step at a time.

This disease has came out of nowhere and it has severely impacted our family with a devastating blow, but we keep and faith and we believe. We believe that this storm will pass, no matter how forceful it appears to be, no matter how fast the rain falls or how hard the wind blows, we just need to endure for this night. Whether this night be days, weeks, months, or years, we will continue to stand so that we can witness the

We are a family of 7 children with one, my oldest who just graduated high school and me being a nurse, but I have not been back to work, I have been with my daughter Kimaya. My husband drives cement trucks, and this is really taking a toll on our family!
All contributions are greatly appreciated and will help lift any financial burden(unpaid medical expenses, travel, food, lost income, med equipment)our family incurs during this devastating time, so that ww can focus on helping Kimaya heal and making sure our other 6 children know that we are here for them too.

I know that there are a lot of things going in the world right now and even though I don't want to take away from those things, I want to bring to your attention the need for more funding for research for childhood cancer. Many people dont think about it, because its not at their doorstep or in their home, they don't understand what these children of different ages go through. They don't realize that cancer does not see color, age, or gender. Cancer doesn't care if you are rich, middle class, or poor, it will happen whether you are ready or not. Support not only our family but these families because we are strong together! #kimayastrong So even though my family is going through the sleepless, tearful nights, unsure of what tomorrow will bring but hoping and praying that it brings something better than yesterday.

No donation is too small. If you are unable to donate, please share Kimaya’s story. Dailt updates of Kimaya’s journey will be posted here, you can also check out Kimaya’s Journey on FB.
