Help WAG's Beautiful Beach Dogs Survive

WAG (Welfare for Animals in Goa) is a small rescue organisation based in Goa, India, and  very dear to my heart.
They rescue all animals, great or small, and support over 40 cattle in their cow shelter (GoShala), along with a few chickens, turkeys, goats & parrots.

WAG's Rescue Clinic also houses stray dogs & cats who need help.

They are currently seeking funding to continue their feeding program for the stray beach dogs, who have been badly affected this year, due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Aside from looking after the 100+ animals in our care, we also carry out a Beach Feeding and Monitoring Programme that has been running for over 5 years.
Through this we feed, sterilise, vaccinate & treat over 60 dogs throughout  the Morjim & Ashvem beach areas.

Goa is mainly a tourist state, where 6 months of the year (October – March) there are many restaurants & beach shacks open. During this time the beach dogs are able to feed off of scraps from restaurants, & the kindness of tourists who visit.

However, from May-September, during the monsoons, all the beach shacks shut down, leaving our beach dogs starving & with no way to get food except scavenge for less than scraps.




This year, with the COVID-19 crisis, things have been worse for our beach babes.
All of India went into a government mandated lock-down & the strays were left hungry with no source of food or water.

WAG had to start it's feeding programme in April, much earlier than usual and we don't know for how much longer we will have to continue feeding for.
The beach shacks may not open until later in the year, which means we would have to continue our programme for even longer.

Resources, time & funds are always in shortage & we need to make sure we give these dogs every chance they have of surviving.
Many people have also taken to abandoning or dumping dogs along our feeding route, leaving us with increasing numbers this year.



Please help us help these innocent animals have a chance of surviving the pandemic.

They are lovable beings who have survived for many years thanks to our Feeding & Monitoring Programme.

They deserve better than the life they face on the beach; being out in the baking sun all day during the summer, & having no shelter from the rain during the monsoons.

Every penny we raise will go into assuring we can continue feeding & most importantly sterilising, our beautiful beach dogs.
