Help us to launch our fantastic Summer Season 2024

Donation protected
We're Spontaneous Productions theatre company - one of south-east London's best-loved institutions and committed to creating the most entertaining and affordable quality theatre show for children and adults alike.

Across the year we stage a range of brilliant original shows - many based on classic fairy tales and aimed at families - as well as regular 'scratch nights', staging new writing by members of our scriptwriting workshops.

Every summer we stage a series of outdoor theatre shows for all ages - last year Aesop's Fables and Robin Hood attracted great crowds, despite some very hot weather in May and some very wet weather in July!

Now, with your support we aim to launch a fantastic programme of outdoor theatre this summer - in the amazing setting of Home Park, Lower Sydenham - just behind Sydenham Library. With your donations we'll be able to create two amazing original shows:

Alice Through the Looking Glass - during the Whitsun break (25 May-2 June) - will whisk you into the mad world of Lewis Carroll, with beloved characters such as the White Rabbit, the Red Queen, Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum & Tweedledee (and their alter egos the Walrus and the Carpenter), plus Alice herself of course. Look out for the giant Jabberwock monster!

Then when schools break up on 20 July, don't miss The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse, our musical adaptation of the classic Aesop's fable, later adapted by Beatrix Potter. Telling the story of one small mouse's adventures in the big city, expect all the usual Spontaneous magic, with madcap chases, crazy dance routines and lots of surprises as usual!

Both shows, staged in the park, will require audiences to move around 'promenade' style, so don't expect to stay still for too long!

And as an extra bonus, with your donations, we hope to purchase some new radio mics, providing the best quality sound at all our performances, both outdoors and indoors.

Full details of our programme will appear on our website in due course, with tickets on sale for both shows approx 4-6 weeks before the show start dates.

Lastly, as we aim to keep our tickets as affordable as possible, your donations will enable us to give away free tickets to as many families and children as we're able, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to see what we do. Thanks to our partners at L&Q Housing, Phoenix Housing, Lewisham Food Bank, Lewisham Homes and Property World estate agents for helping us get tickets to the most in need.

Please give what you can, and help us launch what promises to be our most exciting summer programme yet!

Thank you
