Help us take Mommy home to TX

Mom suffered a brain injury from lack of oxygen to her brain in June 2016 when she suddenly stopped breathing and required resuscitation. She spent a couple of weeks in the local hospital where we live in Northwest Mississippi. Then she was transferred to an acute care facility in Memphis where they could tend to her neurological and respiratory needs. After a few weeks at that place, she was transferred to a facility that had a ventilator unit.  This place was called Signature HealthCare. She spent almost 9 months there where they were able to wen  Mom off of the ventilator. Signature closed down and mom was transferred to another facility in Memphis called Spring Gate. During all of this time, my sister, my Dad and I gave up our lives and jobs to be with mom. We slept in our car or in the hospital waiting room to spend the nights close to mom. Dad had a triple bypass heart surgery unexpectedly. We were now taking care of 2 sick parents. Our homes are located 2 hours south of Memphis. We sacrificed so much but we didn't care because we would do anything for mom and dad. During this time also, we prayed and looked into to taking her home. No such luck. We hated Spring Gate. We had a terrible experience at this facility.  Mom received poor quality care. If we weren't with her everyday, she would've died already.   We didn't have another place to send her so we put up with it. Luckily in September 2017, Mom came down with pneumonia (a blessing in disguise) and was sent to St Francis Hospital in Bartlett. She spent 1 month there fighting off pneumonia and also had her feeding tube removed because it had become dislodged and the feeding was floating in her stomach cavity which had produced pockets of abscess.  At this point, the doctors decided she needed to go to an acute care facility.  There are 2 or 3 in Memphis. Mom ended up back at the place she came to when she first arrived in Memphis. In these past 65  days, mom's feeding tube has been replaced but she has not been wended off the ventilator. Because she is still on the ventilator, she has to be discharged to ventilator facility. The 2'choices in Memphis are full. The 1 in MS is full.  The case manager here says Nashville is the next available place. We requested a transfer to South Texas. Mom was accepted at a place in Brownsville. We were told that they would transfer her there. We were excited that we were going home!!! Now they tell us it is a no because Nashville is available and we're requesting South Texas. We have to pay $14000 upfront to have her transferred to our home sweet home in TX!!
