Hello amazing friends and family,
We hope you are well and smiling along.
Brooke here, I wanted to send you a little update on our lives.
Joel and I are so blessed to be expecting a little darling daughter end of October so it is all go over here as we prepare for her arrival.
It really has been a busy year for us with Joel still undergoing intense physio to get his movement back in full swing. He is doing really well but still has a way to go on his journey to recovery.
Life does take you on some wild rides, this week we had a special moment at our midwife check up, experiencing another twist of fate that has sent us on a new positive path of recovery for Joel. We were lucky enough to meet beautiful Joel and Anita North who are both on the same journey as us, even expecting a little boy around the same time as us! We joked our children would get married ha!
Joel North recently had his brain tumour operated on by the incredible Charlie Teo and just like our Joel he woke from the surgery with similar side affects . He was lucky enough to undergo a relatively new type of therapy called TMS. Essentially TMS is a technique where the brain is stimulated through the skull with a magnet, usually for a few minutes a day for a few weeks. These consecutive sessions, release activity in the brain to essentially talk to the rest of the body and flow the movement through.
After these sessions, Joel North was able to run and surf again!
So naturally we jumped straight on the email with Charlie’s office and found out the finer details so we can hopefully book our Joel in for this treatment so we can get him feeling positive and confident going into fatherhood!
Obviously, there is a cost involved as again this is done through the private hospital in Sydney so we are hoping to reignite our GoFundMe page to hope and pray we can get any financial assistance to get us to Sydney so Joel can walk out feeling amazing!
Again we love you all and thank you for staying connected with us as we go through this journey. Not a moment goes by we do not thank the stars and the universe for friends and family like you.
