Help Us Support Jazmin's Family

Donation protected
It is with deep sorrow, and heavy hearts, that Jazmin’s family shares with you the passing of their sweet daughter, on the evening of Saturday, September 30th, at Children’s hospital in Washington, D.C.

We are thankful for the encouragement and support that we have received from so many of you over the past three months. Many family members, friends, and even kind-hearted strangers joined us to support Jazmin and her family during her time at the hospital.

Soon after being admitted to the hospital, we learned that Jazmin needed a new heart. Our prayers were answered and her team of doctors successfully completed her heart transplant surgery. We were able to focus all of our attention on Jazmin’s recovery before July had even come to a close.

From there, Jazmin’s journey was met by several complex challenges and very few explanations, but this time included many special moments as well. Jazmin’s walls were decorated with letters, pictures and treasures she received. Even the doctors and nurses colored pictures and made signs for her walls. She caught up on all of her favorite Disney shows (marathon-style) and got to watch her favorite movies, Disney’s Descendants,1 and 2, on replay, to her heart’s content. On her spa days, her nails were painted and her hair braided, she was also obsessed with her chapstick. The nurses held special dance parties for her in her room and many people sat by her side and read to her during this sweet time. She even did some online shopping for new shopkins decor and Descendants gear. These memories will always be treasured.

Initially, we began this page to spread the word of Jazmin’s need for a new heart; we needed prayers and hoped to create a community of support for her. We also recognized the financial strain that a family experiences when such an unpredictable season of life presents. We succeeded in creating a community of support for Jazmin and we appreciate every prayer, every kind act, and every single person that has taken the time to read her story. We ask for continued prayers for her family and friends during this difficult time.

Though the focus, of supporting Jazmin and her family, has shifted to supporting them as they grieve and remember Jazmin’s life, the need still exists. Please consider helping us to support Jazmin’s family as they honor and celebrate her sweet life.
