Help us stop oil&gas extraction in Yorkshire UK
What is happening?
The people and wildlife of Holderness in East Yorkshire UK could have their lives turned upside down for at least the next 20 YEARS by oil and gas production.
Rathlin Energy are planning on turning beautiful countryside into a massive industrialised landscape, with the construction of 6 new oil wells, bringing the total of wells in the area to 10.
If this gets approved by the local council it will have a massive impact.
Why should I care?
Gas and oil extraction processes have led to :
- Increase in air pollution and higher asthma risks
- Increase in HGV traffic including oil tankers (200,000 movements in this case)
- Devastation to wildlife including bats, owls and hares
- Unacceptable risks to road users including pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders
- Aquifer and water borehole contamination
- Contributing to a vast increase in climate change

Rathlin Energy have a poor track record, which includes 19 environmental breaches, health and safety incidents including an emergency well shut down, multiple traffic management violations and damage to the tiny unsuitable country lanes.
This evidence has been collected by a small team of dedicated volunteers who have worked tirelessly for years to monitor the existing sites.
How can you help?
We now need URGENT support. We want to bring in two highly experienced planning experts who can pick the planning application to pieces. However, this expertise comes at a price, and this is where we need your help.
We believe this will give us the best possible chance of saving this beautiful part of the planet.
IT REALLY IS NOW OR NEVER
On behalf of the people and wildlife of Holderness thank you so much for your support.
