Our beloved Salvadora Roxas as many of us know her as Dorie has passed away last Thursday. She was going in for a simple procedure that was done with Robotic surgery to remove her prolapse.When the walls of the vagina become lax, the organs that they should be supporting bulge into the vagina, creating the sensation of a lump hanging down. The uterus is supported at the top of the vagina, and when the ligaments in this wall loosen, the uterus bulges downward. This condition is known as uterine prolapse. She went in to surgery Monday of last week and she has faced many complications that involved kidney failure and liver damage. Her doctors advised us all to be prepared by Wednesday night as she deteriorate with no signs of improvement. It was the hardest decision to make but it was time.
Dorie has been enduring her prolapse for the last two years while caring for two toddlers ages 3 and 5. Dorie is well known as a loving care taker (nanny) in Hamilton Park and Jersey City for the last eleven years. Most times she will push a double stroller up Dickinson hill and back to Hamilton Park snow and rain. She will then bring the kids to every park you can think of as well as set up play dates and develop a circle of nannies that go on trips to bring fun for the kids. Dorie adored the kids she took care of and those kids will miss her dearly! She is most remembered by her family and friends to be a lively woman who ignored her pain and lived day by day with joy. She will be at every gathering from birthday parties, weddings and you can expect her to be there for your hardships. She was the type of woman who brought life into every room she walked in. We can not forget she is a mother of three back home who have not seen her for eleven years. Dorie provided for all her children at the age of 63 years old. She never cared what she had but she made sure that by the end of the day her children are well taken care of, so therefore help us. Help us raise enough funds to give a proper viewing and burial for our beloved Dorie. Any amount will help. As the famous quote says, “ you have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you back.”
