Help us save Louie's life

Hello everyone,
Our baby boy Louie Bear Stewart, 4-years-old, needs our help. He is only four and he has so much more life to live! I normally wouldn’t think of asking anyone for help but it’s time to swallow our pride for my boy who saved my life! I have Multiple Sclerosis and he has been my support dog to get me through my bad days. I would say he is my emotional support dog. What we thought was a torn ACL ended up being a bacterial infection that he is in hospital fighting off. We took him to our vet in Liverpool and were told he tore his ACL and were sent home with some anti-inflammatory and were told to wait for a call for surgery. Over the weekend he started swelling to where his leg became 3 times the size of the other leg. He also started retaining fluid throughout his whole body. I laid on the floor with him at night and he would just crawl up to me and lick my face. He didn’t want to stand even with us helping him. It was completely heartbreaking watching him be in so much pain. He was screaming in pain all weekend and I knew he needed us to know he was not ok. So, Monday we called the vet back and brought him back in. They were totally puzzled at what the problem was. All of his levels were normal in his bloodwork. They told us he needed a hospital as soon as possible. We drove right then to Albany, NY to Upstate Veterinary Specialties (2 hours away) and that is where he currently is for testing. They found a bacterial infection in his joints. This is curable with lots of antibiotics. He has been in the hospital since Monday 10/19 and we are racking up the bills. His vet bill right now is $10,000. I’m asking for help with these vet bills because on top of my own medical bills it’s becoming overwhelming for our family. I appreciate your support and I promise all of the funds will be used for Louie’s treatment and his journey to get healthy again.
