Help Us Recover Home&Business Losses From Robbery

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Katherine, my husband and I are small business owners that work to make safe and innovative supplies for small and exotic pets. We started the business in 2015 and slowly started growing it.

This year we outgrew our small home, our entire house was used for the business; the bedrooms, garage, backyard etc. Due to this, we did not feel like we had much of a home anymore so we started looking for a house with a workshop and some land to start a small animal rescue. We ended up finding one and put thousands for the inspections, earnest deposit, down payment etc. During this, we started moving furniture, equipment, electronics and other items into a storage unit.

Unfortunately, the storage unit was broken into. However, the manager never notified us and when we went to drop off more on 7/19/21, it was a BIG shock to see all our big items and even sentimental items missing. We lost large propane heaters we use for work, work tablets, tools, woodwork equipment, this years Christmas' presents for our whole family and sentimental items like my college graduation medal, mementos, and even pictures of my grandma who has passed. They broke open a Pikachu piggy bank I had been saving money in since I was 8 years old and they stole all the money.

The total loss is estimated to be just shy of 5000. The few things they left, they trampled, ripped and broke.

On top of this we just had an sudden vet visit for our dog with possible blockage and my phone was lost. Due to this and the money we put into the house, we can't afford to recover everything we lost. The storage unit is not taking accountability even though we never signed anything that would release them from being responsible for events like this. They advertised having 24/7 cameras, on site employee that patrols and high tech security but they are saying they got no footage and do not know when or who did this. We did file a police report and I can post part of it on here as well as pictures/videos of the damage.

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone would be able to share or donate any amount. We would use the money to purchase the work equipment, electronics and furniture we lost. We are motivated to keep our business going and will continue to process all orders. We will not let this slow us down because this business and our customers mean the world to us. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! <3

Also, still figuring out how to add photos where they aren't zoomed in on, so I will update this :) Here are some the few things left, mostly broken tubs and a damaged heater. All the paper is the packing paper we used for packaging.
