Who are we? RAaW London is a Film, Theatre and Training Company in the heart of Camden helping young people train and grow as performers. Apart from offering intense actor training, RAaW London is always getting involved with with different charities to help raise money and make a change in the community using performing arts.

Robbi Stevens the Director of RAaW London has teamed up with current students Giorgia Valentino and Adja Gaye to write and direct BINTA. We have previously all worked together on another project: a mini short film 'In The Middle' which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hya1fwzltHQ&t=1s  This went so well that we wanted to create something longer and more powerful.

Giorgia and Adja  the co -writers and actors completed a 10K run on the 7th of February 2021, and Robbi our director completed a 5K run at the end of January 2021 - We hope you can donate to help us reach our goal. All the money raised will be used to fund our film and bring the story of BINTA to life.

BINTA is an unmissable story, based on real events.

We follow two individuals, who for their own reasons, need change in order to live their ideal lives. There are massive obstacles in the way including lack of trust and belief, fear and poverty. Binta is an educated and inspiring individual who simply followed her heart, and someone she trusted. Camilla is stuck in a cycle of poverty which restricts her vision and purpose. Everything doesn't fall neatly into place. The film argues that with courage and a little help, we can change our situations. no matter how desperate they are.

Human trafficking is a common, tragic phenomenon, that is happening in the underbelly of our communities right now. Women and girls are disproportionately affected by modern slavery, accounting for 71% of domestic and 99% of sexual exploitation slavery. It destroys lives and communities and is inhumane. From a child, Binta is regularly raped by her Uncle and silenced into submission by her Aunt. We need to fight for women and girls who are subjected to this kind of cruelty.

We also uncover the impacts of poverty and isolated communities in BINTA. Camilla moved to the UK from Italy when she was a young girl. We see her struggle with poverty and having so much responsibility at such a young age.Her life becomes robotic as everything is about income generation and the feeling that nothing can be added to the equation.

We need your help to tell this story and make a change.
Thank you, Stay safe.
