Help Us Improve Our Community Garden

Hello, my name is Marc and I am the principal at École Franco-Nord. This year’s goal is to help improve our community garden. It has been successful for the past ten years, but it is in dire need of repair and expansion. The community garden has provided an enriching experience for all our students, but due to the outdoor elements and funding constraints, we find ourselves looking for help to expand the garden and rebuild the fence.

Students are involved in all the steps from planting and weeding to harvesting. Also during the Fall harvest, we can supply our lunch program with fresh vegetables and apples, and we give away our surplus to families in need. The children are thriving outside and often spent their recreations in the garden working on their own. This is why we would love to add a First Nations Garden with a seating circle where classes can come, do gardening and learn.
