Help Us Help BJ!

On November 24th, everybody’s favorite bartender, BJ, went to the doctor and was unexpectedly rushed to UMass Memorial to learn his heart was failing him. With 80% blockage, he will undergo triple bypass surgery later this month.

Between work, and caring for his family, anyone that knows BJ knows he is always on the go. This year, he will be spending the holidays in the hospital, rather than enjoying his new baby daughter’s first Christmas at home.

Following surgery, BJ will be in recovery for four months, unable to do most basic things that we take for granted each day - including work. Four months without work is financially tough on anyone, but especially on those that rely heavily on tips. Monica and BJ will have a lot on their shoulders in the coming months, but their most important priority will be to focus on BJ's recovery...this is where we come in.

Our community has come together time and time again to rally around friends who need it. I have personally seen BJ give back to every charity event held at the restaurant, and ask how he can help. How many times has BJ been there for us - whether it’s a ride home, a good laugh, or free therapy at the bar? He is always there for others, and now it's time for us to be there for him and his family, and to help them however we can.
