The Hare Krishna Village is a magical oasis nestled within the wild Polish Woodstock festival. Woodstock is unlike anything I have ever seen. People in the thousands, Ratha Yatras where hundreds at a time are given the mercy of Lord Jagannath, bucket after bucket of sumptuous prasadam served out to eager, hungry, youth from all over the world, and the ever present Kirtan of the Holy Names.
Cultural Presentations, dances, dramas, yoga and much more keep festival goers captivated from the time they seek out the Hare Krishna Village in the morning until early evening when thousands of people pour into the Mantra Yoga tent. There, the kirtan goes on late into the night, and the one constant is, whenever the kirtan stops, there is the answering roar for MORE.
I have had the amazing good fortune to have the opportunity to go to Woodstock since 2012, and it is truly a testament to the glory of Srila Prabhupada and Indradyumna Swami to see how eager the devotees are year after year to join this Krishna army and distribute the Holy Name so widely.
My nephew, Keshava, has been yearning to attend Woodstock for many years. In fact, when he was younger, Indradyumna Swami called he and his brothers, his traveling buddies and urged them to grow up quickly so that they could travel with Maharaj all over the world. From the time he was five, Keshava has been leading soul stirring, passionate kirtans. Now, 15, he has hoped and prayed and begged that he might have the opportunity to travel maybe not all over the world, but at least to Woodstock. To be able to see the amazing way the Holy Name manifests in this special place he has tried his hardest to train both himself and his voice. Never one to miss a kirtan, you'll always find him supporting his fellow kirtaniyas.
He is an example for his peers, ready to serve whenever he is asked. He is a bright boy who has been homeschooled, and his sense of humor and love for Krishna's pastimes are some of favorite qualities of his. I am so proud to see how his kirtan has grown, and I so wish that I could help make his dream of going to the Polish Woodstock festival come true.
We would be so incredibly grateful to any of you who could spare any amount to help us make this the year he gets to experience Woodstock. Any donations will go towards his travel expenses, and any extra funds that are collected will go towards helping this Polish Woodstock fesitval. We don't have much time as ticket prices rise by the day, so we would like to raise these funds as soon as possible.
All donors will be sent an exclusive, previously unreleased kirtan track from me. I so hope that we can come together to help this young kirtaniya have the summer trip of a lifetime!
