How the world's oldest rainforest got put up for sale

The Buyback is a story of government corruption, heroic activism, and the world’s oldest rainforest. The Daintree. Located in North Queensland, Australia, the forest is home to hundreds of native species of plants and wildlife. The ecosystem is vitally connected with the Great Barrier Reef and the ancient culture of the Kuku Yalanji people.

However, two-thirds of this World Heritage site was put up for sale by the Australian Government in 1992. The Buyback follows the team from Half-cut, Rainforest 4 and Traditional Owners of the land as they buy back pieces of the Daintree to protect it forever.
