Never 2 Young is a band consisting of Leon Carrasco, Ian Chavez, Elijah Orneles, And Adrian Revilla. The band has been playing in West Texas for 4 years now. Leon is the lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for band Never 2 Young. He began to play the guitar at the age of 6 and fell in love with it. The first genre he fell in love with was blues. Guitarists who’s names he hopes to add his too when speaking of such greats as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, B.B. King Muddy Waters, and Elvis just to name a few. After a few months he wanted to perform in front of a crowd he played a cover of Jimi Hendrix VooDoo Child and was hooked. that night he said he made his mind up. Thats what he wanted to do for a living.

Leon rehearses no less than 40 hours a week while maintaining an A average and is also the catcher for the Legacy High School baseball team. He also has a recording studio unto which he produces, mixes, masters, conducts rehearsal for the band Never 2 Young and records artists young and old alike for extra money and experience. His strong faith has allowed him to focus on his craft and avoid the confusion and questions so many other young adults deal with these days. he feels he’s been called to do this and works hard every day to be deserving of this gift he’s been blessed with.

7 years ago Leon met a young 7 year old drummer by the name of Ian Chavez 14 now in a music store in Odessa Texas. Ian was amazing people playing the drums and Leon was on the other end of the store killing the guitar section playing on all the nice guitars he wished we could afford. Lol!!! The two boys won up meeting, making plans and within a few hours they were on stage at Ians Church Where his dad and grandfather are pastors. Not only was a match made in heaven when the lord put these two boys in the same store, in the same city at the same time, but we found a loving wonderful, inviting church we began to attend.

Ian is a drummer who would rival any drummer at any age. He is 15 year old and has been playing since he was 3. He was performing in from of hundreds of people by the age of 4. Ian is a true student of percussion and always expanding his drumming repertoire. Along with playing drums Ian plays timbales, congas, as well as bass guitar is in a guitar ensemble at Odessa High school where he is currently is a 9th grader and a member of the Odessa high school band program. Ian works hours and can be found out performing around the permian basin at jazz clubs or filling in when needed for other bands and always playing at his church on Sundays.

Elijah Orneles is the bass player for this band and brings a smooth sound that ties the band together. Elijah joined the band in 2019 and brought with him an extensive knowledge of instruments and a style to match the bands hard edge and unique song writing style. His knowledge and understanding allows him to improvise change to any song progression. He is 15 years old and is in tenth grade at compass academy in Odessa Texas. He is also a member of the compass academy orchestra

Adrain Revilla is the fourth member and handles the ivory keys for this band. Adrian is a life long musician and has been gigging since the age of 12. He brings again an extensive knowledge of all musical instruments. Piano, guitar, bass, and accordion. He has a degree in music and is currently a music director at a Fine Arts Academy in Midland Texas he is influencing young minds everyday with music. When he’s not jamming with never 2 young or filling in with one of his other bands

Leon and Adrian met when Leon was 8 he joined the mariachi program at the Hispanic Cultural Center of Midland and Adrian was the instructor. The two hit it off well and a respect for trust was formed between the two and worked together. When Leon left the group Adrian and he stayed in touch and when the time came in 2021 that we needed him he was more than willing to step in and help out wherever needed. He is the keyboard player that adds depth and substance to the band and brings so much experience and knowledge from the sound set up to knowing what to expect at each different venue

This band has been putting in its dues and it's starting to show. The group has been hand selected by the greater West Texas Blues Society to represent West Texas in Memphis Tennessee Jan 24-28 2023. They have been selected to go perform as a youth showcase band. This means they will play on Beale street Friday on the 27th and later that night at the youth jam session. Also on Beale St. this trip will be the first step of many to get to where they would like to be in the future, and a true testament to the saying “hard work pays off.”

We need your help to get to Memphis these boys work very hard with long long hours and do not have the luxury of being able to afford an opportunity like this yet at this time in their career. We know this is a cause worth supporting and getting behind. It's not often now a days to find such good young men who are respectful and not in trouble and working hard in a positive way to create something together and leave a lasting impression, that simply says just like the name. You're Never 2 Young to have strong faith to help others, to be positive influence, to make a difference in your community, to love another human being, to be charitable to others. And the list goes on and won you put your story here cause your Never 2 Old to make a change and Never 2 Young to have an effect on this beautiful world no matter how old you are your Never 2 Young to start fresh and new.
