Help us fund our first found family feast

We are the Found Family Collective, a newly formed grassroots collective of transgender, queer, gay, lesbian, bi+ community members who are ready to tackle the ongoing threats we're facing by state law, cultural shifts, and the increase in hate violence toward all of us--most especially our transgender and/or queer people of color.

On November 24th, we're having our first FOUND FAMILY FEAST. In tradition of our queer elders, we decided to have a space where people can present as their WHOLE selves. Unable to express your gender as you wish at home? Come feast with us. Can't bring your significant other(s) home for the holiday--come feast with us. Moved far away from family to come to a safer town and can't make it home? Come feast with us. Just don't want to deal with your family--come feast with us. We will also have Indigenous community leader(s) opening up a frank, honest discussion on the needs of the Indigenous community and how "Thanksgiving" and its traditions have impacted Indigenous people. We'll pay these leaders for their time, labor, and commitment.

The Found Family Collective aims to grow even larger, with an eventual goal of being a collective for us, by us to provide mutual aid, community care, resources, referrals, and more, all within line with our core values:

In the meantime, we want to be the "home away from home" for queer and trans people, and most especially multi-marginalized queer and trans people, as they feel more isolated during holidays.
