Help Us Fund for YWAM Homes Of Hope

Donation protected
Overview:
We are three young Christian men looking to fund our Discipleship Training School/ Outreach program
through an organization called YWAM (Youth With A Mission). This is a 5 month program *starting April 8th 2021* that we all have been accepted to! The first 3 months we will be connecting with the San Antonio Del Mar campus in Mexico's Baja peninsula for discipleship training. Those 3 months will consist of learning about the nature and character of God through listening to guest speakers, being a part of worship, and having 1 on 1 discipleship with a staff member. We also expect to go out to the local community and put into practice what we've been learning to make God known as well as make lasting positive impacts in others lives. This DTS is called Homes Of Hope. It will be focused on building houses for people who do not have adequate housing and have an average monthly income of under $400. The last 2 months, we will be spending on an outreach into a different country that has not been decided yet. The options are broad: Southern Mexico, South America, The Caribbean, or Asia! We hope to raise $8,500 to help us pay off the rest of our tuition and for the costs of doing outreach, which in total, will cost $6,390-$7,390 each (depending on Outreach location).

About Us:
Our names are Dean, Aidan and Nathan. We are recent high school graduates from the same school in a small Colorado town called Buena Vista. In high school we were often involved with the same activities due to our common interests. For example, we were all apart of a CMC (college) class through the high school, in which we went on a week long backpacking trip in Capital Reef National Park, Utah. Towards the end of high school, we became close friends and eventually found ourselves attending the same church. This has grown our passion to be more involved in our faith to the point where we now wish to serve God through global outreach.

Dean's Story: Attending DPCA for almost my entire school career, I often always learned about missionaries, their field of work, and their stories. Every semester we would also decide what to give to people in need through the school offering. Both these always rested on my heart as something I would like to do, and saw myself doing some sort of mission work for the glory of God. Growing up I always pictured myself doing some sort of mission work at some time of my life. Through Clearview I had opportunities to serve and go on mission trips, and always enjoyed those and serving other people in need. In Clearview, as I noted, Ilove serving through working on the media team and doing slides or camera work to benefit the body. I have always felt this call to service, but know there are bigger better things in my life and opportunities to serve! After highschool, I started attending Colorado Northwestern Community College for their flight program. I grew up knowing there will always be challenges and hurdles to overcome, and I faced many at CNCC. I believed for a while that it was the enemy trying to hold me back from earning my flight licenses, but due to a recent event and all the other somehow seemingly impossible coincidences I have started to see that maybe it is God trying to close doors and steer me in a different direction. In January I spent a good amount of time praying about my situation and direction to go with Zach, in which the idea of taking a break and going into a mission came up. Right away this idea calmed my heart over my present situation and lost any worries I had about attending CNCC. Very soon after, Nathan approached me with the idea to go on this YWAM program and the timing, opened doors, and everything seemed to be God's favor and plan!

Aidan's Story:
Locally, I used to be a member of my family’s Pentecostal church called Living Water Life Center. We could no longer afford to keep it running after a couple years. This lead me to stray away from God towards the end of high school. Recently, Nathan started going to a local non-denominational church called Clearview Community Church. He urged me to go with him for a couple months until I said yes. I now enjoy being back in church, and I am hopeful towards this new church environment I am apart of. Being apart of this church has also brought me closer to Dean who has attended this church regularly since he was a child.
Being presented with the opportunity to attend a YWAM discipleship training program has been a very exciting idea to me. I feel as though this trip will be an opportunity to put my focus on God and to get away from the distractions of my current life. I hope that this trip will help me to deepen my faith and to help learn more about God and his word.

Nathan's Story:
After graduating from high school in 2019, I did not know what to do with my life. I could not think of a single thing, a single career that I could see myself doing for the majority of my life. I did not feel like college was the place for me, so I started working full time at a local Glass shop. I have learned a lot about the trade and it has been fun! I've been there for a year and a half now, and let's just say I'm ready for something new.
In the past year, I have grown so much in my relationship with Jesus. I have really enjoyed going to church, I have been diving into God's word and reading the Bible, I’ve spent so much time in prayer, I started going to a Bible study that my coworker started up at his house, I have been reaching out to people with so much compassion, and I have forgiven those who have done me wrong. But I’m not here to brag about how good of a person I am, because in reality, I am not good. Jesus set the stage on how to truly be good. Through the sacrifice and mercy of Christ alone, we are forgiven for the sins we commit daily, and God has a place for every one of us in his kingdom!
God, my Father, has been such a big part of my everyday life. He has renewed my heart and filled it with overflowing love. It is crazy to look back and see how much the Lord has changed me and my heart. The sinful nature that I once desired is no longer a desire. My goal in life is no longer to be financially successful and own a fast exotic car (although that would be nice). My goal is to serve God and follow the example Jesus made for us on how to LIVE in this world. In 2017, I put my TRUST in Jesus Christ. Today God exercises that trust that I promised Him.
Toward the end of December 2020, God opened a door for me. I am now on my way to stepping through that door with FAITH. That door is Discipleship Training School (DTS). I do not have much of a plan for when I get back, but that's the way I want it. Because honestly, a lot can change in 5 months and I have no idea where God will take me next, but I have PEACE knowing that He is in control.
