Benji Needs Eye Surgery!

Benji came to me with cataracts seven years ago. A year ago, I started this fundraiser ahead of 11 months of eye drop treatment but never made it public. The focus was for cataract removal, initially. Now, we have a medically necessary procedure that needs to be done in order to preserve Benji's left eye. Cataract removal is elective at this point.
Both of Ben's eyeballs still have elevated pressure but that pressure is being kept at sub-Glaucoma levels thanks to his eye drops.
While that is good news, the doctor said that there are blisters on the Cornea of his left eye and it (the Cornea) is under some significant stress. The rupturing of the Cornea could result in an eye/medical emergency and likely eye loss, so he proposed putting Benji under and using a laser to "poke some holes" in the Cornea. He cannot see out of that eye anyway, but what this will do is cause scar tissue to form as a healing response and will actually strengthen the Cornea this way.
The initial cost estimate for this procedure is $2,500.00 but Benji will need a blood panel prior to surgery, post-surgery medications and may need extra fluids given during the procedure, so I am factoring in a bit of a buffer for those.
