Guess what? This year, I'm turning the big 3-0, and I'm throwing the ultimate celebration by inviting you to join me in making a difference!

As many of you know, I'm the proud owner of a (soon-to-be 3 years old) cozy little bookstore called BLK + BRWN. (pronounced 'Black and Brown') that's more than just shelves of books – it's a community hub, a safe space for us and by us where amplifying Black and Brown storytelling, and a place where our stories are art.

But here's the tea: The world of indie bookselling has faced some challenges, especially in the past year. And, your girl is EXHAUSTED. Across the board we are seeing sales have taken a hit all while expenses continue to increase, making it tougher for small businesses like mine to keep the magic alive. ✨

That's where you come in! I'm launching a special birthday fundraiser to ensure our doors stay open and our little literary haven thrives for another year.

Goal: $20,000 for the year

This magical sum will cover our rent for one year, support our incredible staff, and fuel community events that make our bookstore more than just a place to buy books – it's a space where are building an ecosystem !

Why now? Well, this milestone birthday has me reflecting on the incredible journey we've had together, and I can't imagine celebrating without my book-loving community. -- but let's be real -- BLK + BRWN. has functioned for three years without the help of any grants or loans and that my friends is extremely stressful. It's time we start getting proactive. I am forever grateful for how much love you all have shown to my dream and me by extension. Thank you!
