Masjid Arif For Our Beloved Father
As-salam-alaykum
The Messenger of Allah said, 'When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained , or a righteous child who prays for him'
On the 12th July 2021 during the blessed 10 days of Dhul-Hijja we unfortunately lost our beloved father Mohammed Arif to illness, the brightest light in our lives. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raajionn. Verily we belong to Allah and verily to him do we return.
May Allah swt illuminate his grave, make it a garden of Paradise and place him with the best of companions – Ameen.
In trying to live up to our fathers legacy, we have made intention to build Masjid Arif in Malawi, Africa as ongoing charity in his name. We aim to raise £20,000 which will contribute to; a Masjid with a Wudhu area, an Imam's house with washroom facilities, a classroom block for education purposes (for both males and females), as well as a water well.
Building Mosques is one of the best forms of charity. The first thing the Prophet (peace be upon him) did after migrating to Madinah was build a Masjid. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said, "Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build a house like it in paradise".
Access to clean water can transform the lives of a whole community. Allah (swt) says, 'By means of water, we give life to everything'. (Quran, 21:30). In providing access to clean water to those who are in need, we are helping to break the tragic cycle of poverty and bettering education and well being, as well as contributing to our own hereafter.
Malawi is amongst the poorest places in the world where access to places of worship is limited. The Masjid will serve many purposes, acting as a hub for the Muslim community, from which they can attain greater knowledge and worship.
