Help us bring Doug's vision to fruition

Doug Schutte left a legacy behind. It is apparent in the outpouring of messages we’ve all received since The Old Bard’s Town shut down, and especially since Doug’s death. We at the Bard will continue the legacy Doug began. He never stopped working to make The Bard’s Town the best it could be for us. We are still here. We are still working to bring Doug’s new vision to life at the new Bard and we won't stop until we can bring it to you just as he wanted.

We are a team that Doug formed to help him re-open the new Bard and we have a drive and desire to carry on with his mission! We had been working closely with him on his plans for the new space and feel confident that we can bring it to you just as he would have wanted.

Doug left behind drawings and notebooks full of ideas for everything and we plan on using as much of that as we can to help guide the process. If we want to follow through with his goals we're going to need your help!

We're already in contact with the Landlord and are working on a new lease as well as transferring the utilities into our names. Until we can get open this will be a financial burden that we have no way of earning the money to pay. That's where you come in!

We're trying to raise enough money to cover the rent and utilities until we can open as well as help cover some of the renovation and building costs.

We are adding an ADA compliant bathroom as well as putting in a lift that will take people to the basement. There is a ramp on one side already but we are also going to build a deck on the other side with another ramp.

Doug was our Bard, and we are his Town. The Bard’s Townsfolk will gather again, in all the ways Doug loved having us around. We cannot wait to see you all when we open again. Soon.
