Help us bring Chaz home!

Hi, my name is Sandra. My son Chaz aged 41 passed away in Jamaica on 13th March 2022 due to the negligence of the airline as well as the Jamaican healthcare system.

 

My son has sickle cell anaemia which he has been managing well here, taking his medication and doing his cell exchange. He left on the 5th of February to return from Jamaica on the 9th of March.

When reaching the airport at Montego Bay, he was refused to fly because his passport picture allegedly wasn’t him. They said he has locs now and in his passport picture he had short hair. Due to this he was refused to fly and resulted in him missing his red cell exchange. They told him that he needed to go to the British Consulate to get travel documents. Which in turn stressed his body out even more. At this point he was beginning to go jaundice and you could see the urgency for him to come back - which you can see in the picture below. 

 

From this point he wasn’t able to eat, drink, basically started having crisis. Serious abdomen pain he was rushed to the hospital. Although he made it there they are claiming he was dead on arrival.

 

We need help paying for his post mortem, the police services and repatriation of his body to the UK. We never knew it would be so expensive. And we will like to have him back with us as soon as possible. Please anything that you can give we will really appreciate it.

 

Chaz was a loving, funny and laid back son, brother and uncle. And will be dearly missed by his friends and family, we just want to give him the best send off.
