Help Underdahl Family Recover From House Fire

Hello and thank you so much for your interest in helping my family during our time of need.

My name is Easton Underdahl. I'm organizing this fundraiser to help my parents (Kim and Rod) and sister (Avery) get back on their feet, after losing our family home to an electrical fire.

On September 7th, 2021 my parents were enjoying their normal Tuesday when they began smelling smoke around 9am. Once they located where it was coming from, they opened the door to the garage to find it was too late -- the flames had already engulfed both cars and made their way into the attic. From there, the insolation caught fire and spread throughout the entire house. No fire alarms went off, so we're very thankful both Kim and Rod were home and awake when this happened. They managed to get 7 out of our 8 pets out safely. Firefighters were able to find our family cat, passed out from inhaling too much smoke underneath my sister's bed. They put her on oxygen and immediately took her to the emergency vet. She is expected to make a full recovery.

Right now my family is homeless. It is a grim reality that no one saw coming. Sarasota's Fire Marshal ruled the house a total loss -- with the roof being completely gone and four main support walls to the house destroyed.

Cars, clothing, furniture, instruments, and countless, priceless memories...all lost.

My parents have lived in Sarasota for upwards of 30 years, and we have been in that house since I was born over 22 years ago. Both of them, contributing to the community in many different ways. From my mother's work with her alma mater, Riverview High School, to my father's work with the Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota -- their kindness has never gone unnoticed in their community.

They desperately need help getting back on their feet, anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated.

Clothing and food are also appreciated.
