Help Ukrainian Golubets Family Reach Safety

Inna Gobulets is a kind and hardworking Bow Valley resident living with her partner Drew Goldsack in Exshaw, Alberta. Inna grew up in Ukraine and moved to Utah where she worked until she met Drew and immigrated to Canada. Inna’s parents and sister are in Ukraine, and she has been a fundamental source of support for them over the years. Inna's sister fled Kyiv as the bombing started but only made it about 30km south of the Capitol where she has been sheltering in place as it's very dangerous to travel at the moment, with Russian troops shooting at Ukrainian civilians and cars as they try to escape. She has been unable to physically reach Inna's parents who live another few hundred kilometers southeast in Inna's hometown of Smila.

 

Like so many other Ukrainian families, Inna and her family have been under unimaginable stress since Russia invaded Ukraine. Inna has been scanning Ukrainian news and updates for possible air attacks in places where her family lives so that she can call to wake them and warn them so they can shelter in place. A large explosion occurred approximately 10 kilometers from their house. Their lives are at risk until they can leave Ukraine and reach safety.

 

We are raising funds to help Inna's family escape from Ukraine and safely cross to Poland and then here to North America. If any extra funds remain, Inna will redistribute them directly to Ukrainian friends/family/community who are either also trying to escape, or cannot leave but will most certainly face devastating challenges ahead and be in urgent need of direct financial support.

 

 

Many of us have watched in horror, from afar, the unimaginable events that are unfolding and will continue to unfold in Ukraine. We are asking for support by donating any amount you can to help alleviate the strain on this family and to help them reach safety.
