I am Ugurcan, a senior double degree student in Chemical and Biological Engineering & Business Administration at Koc University, which has the highest academic ranking in Turkey. For the next year, I got admitted to the MSc program in Complex Systems Engineering and Management at the Delft University  of Technology in Netherlands. By being admitted to this program, I took a significant step towards my goal. I am a first-generation academic within my family to study at university. I have the ambition to make our world more sustainable and climate neutral. In this program, I want to pursue my goals by working on the decarbonization of the industry, and transition to renewable energy systems. However, I do not have the financial means to study in Netherlands.

I have continued my education with a governmental scholarship and 100% Koç University Financial Aid that provided me accommodation, stipend, and book scholarship during my undergraduate studies. My father is retired, and my mother is a housewife. Under these economic conditions and given the current exchange rate of the Turkish Lira, I am sincerely in need of the economic support to continue my education and career pathway. By conducting research on this topic, I will be a part of the solution to build a climate-neutral environment for our future. To achieve this goal, I profoundly need your support. Any contribution that you can make is crucial for my upcoming education in the Netherlands.

Uğurcan’a Işık Ol!

Ben Uğurcan. Koç Üniversitesi Kimya ve Biyoloji Mühendisi ve İşletme çift anadal 4. Sınıf öğrencisiyim. Gelecek sene için endüstriye etki ve inovasyonda Dünya birincisi olan Delft Teknoloji Üniversitesinden, Kompleks Sistemler Mühendisliği ve Yönetimi alanında yüksek lisans kabulü aldım. Bu kabul ile sürdürülebilir bir yaşam için sürdürülebilir endüstri hedefime yönelik profesyonel anlamda önemli bir adım atmış bulunmaktayım. Programda, endüstrinin karbonsuzlaştırılması ve yenilenebilir enerji sistemlerinin günümüz enerji sistemlerine uyumlu hale getirilmesi üzerine çalışacağım. Ancak hedeflerimin gerçekleşebilmesi için ekonomik desteğe ihtiyaç duymaktayım.

 
2015 senesinde üniversite giriş sınavında derece yaparak, Koç Üniversitesi Kimya ve Biyoloji Mühendisliği bölümünü %100 burs ile kazandım. Üniversite yıllarımda KUDEB (Koç Üniversitesi Destek Bursu) ve Kredi Yurtlar Kurumu bursuyla eğitimimi devam ettirdim. Bu sene Kimya ve Biyoloji Mühendisliği ve İşletme bölümlerinden mezun olacağım. Aldığım bu eğitimleri daha da ileriye taşıyabilmek ve endüstriye etki eder bir hale getirmek amacıyla bu yüksek lisans programında hem eğitim almak hem de araştırma yapmak istiyorum. Bu araştırmalarımla ülkemiz ve dünyamız için temiz bir gelecek tasarlayabileceğim. Ancak yukarıda bahsettiğim ekonomik durumumdan ve emekli bir ailenin çocuğu olmamdan dolayı maddi desteklerinizi bekliyorum. Yapacağınız her türlü yardım bu yolda bana çok büyük destek sağlayacaktır.
