ISCO Fundraiser to Establish Preschool in Iran

According to the Statistical Center of Iran, 54 percent of residents in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan in Iran live under the poverty line, and in the previous school year, some 200,000 children did not receive primary education.
Every child deserves the opportunity to not only survive but also to thrive, regardless of their background or upbringing. This is why the Iranian Students’ Cultural Organization (ISCO) at UC Berkeley is partnering with Moms Against Poverty (MAP) to increase access to education by establishing a preschool in a province in Iran.
The preschool will be built in a remote village in either Sistan and Baluchestan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, or Lorestan provinces, where over 40 percent of the population lives below the poverty line. Once we raise the money, MAP's sister organization in Iran, Nikgaman Jamshid, will locate an existing structure and transform it into a fully-functional pre-school – and ISCO will be given the opportunity to name it.
