Help Tyler Beat Leukemia!

Imagine, taking your child to the doctor and leaving with antibiotics and a diagnosis of walking pneumonia, only to be contacted 6 days later and asked to physically visit the doctor’s office because a more severe ailment has been discovered through the completed blood work…

One can only imagine the worry, doubt, and dread a parent is filled with during the drive to the clinic— wondering what the doctor could possibly have to tell them that can’t be expressed over the phone.

Recently, my friend's teenage son, Tyler, has been experiencing unexplained, random bouts of pain. Brandy took Tyler to a general physician, expecting a pretty routine exam and a simple explanation, as anyone would… life was turned upside down as the doctor diagnosed Tyler with leukemia.

After further testing with specialists, the diagnosis has narrowed to a rare type of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Affecting approximately only 500 children in the country since its discovery, this type of ALM is still relatively new and unknown to doctors. Nonetheless, the prescribed course of treatment will be aggressive and costly.

There is no one more deserving of help than Tyler's mom, Brandy; she is always the first one to step in and help others in their time of need--now it's our time to help them! Brandy is an extremely hard-working single mother, loyal to a fault, and the true definition of a friend—which is why I consider her one of my very best.

This fundraiser will help with traveling back-and-forth between treatments, long stays in Dallas, monthly bills, and anything needed for the care of her son—we hope to alleviate any financial burden so that Brandy can focus all of her energy on helping Tyler fight and beat this!
