Help Treat Pepper’s Brain Tumor

Donation protected

Hi everyone, this is Pepper. This girl has gone through quite a bit in the past few months. I rescued her back in December of last year, after losing my first ferret, Bandit. I felt it was time to bring another companion into Snoopy’s life (my other noodle). So as an early Christmas gift, I brought this sweet girl home. She was never really the most active ferret, but she and Snoopy did everything 2 ferrets could do together: eat, sleep, and be downright adorable!

Shortly after she turned 3 on June 1st of this year, I started noticing weakness, more specifically hind leg weakness. I brought her to the vet and found out she has insulinoma. I started her on pred, and about 2 weeks later I noticed her tilting her head to one side, which we thought might’ve been due to a bad ear infection. It has now progressed into what is described as a dizziness or spinning sensation, and she randomly falls over when walking.

After weeks and weeks of follow-ups and uncertainty from her regular vet a different emergency vet, I decided to take her to a specialist. Within a week she was in and out of the hospital. They did a full CBC blood panel and a CT scan, and unfortunately, they found a pretty large mass closest to the Cerebellum, which explains the loss of balance and head tilting. They believe the kind of tumor she has is a meningioma, which is one that normally responds well to radiation therapy. So we’ve decided that would be the best option for her. I will do anything and everything I can to give her more time and the best quality of life possible. She hasn’t been with me for even a year, but I want every second of her life with me to be special! It breaks my heart to watch her fall over and suffer and not even know what’s going on

I’m not normally one to ask for help, however, I am currently recovering from credit card debt and Care Credit is not an option for me. And even with all of my savings put together I don’t have enough to cover out-of-pocket expenses for her upcoming treatments, which we will hopefully be starting on October 11th.

Anything would be sincerely appreciated. Thank you so much for considering your donations. ❤️ I will post all updates here.

Update 10/6/21:

I’ve made the decision of not putting her through radiation, but instead treating her with alternative medicine.
