Help Trans SWer Access Healthcare and Support

I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my partner Taro.

Taro is always very proactive when it comes to helping and supporting myself and others, however, he really struggles to ask for support for himself and often sees himself as undeserving of it.

I wish I could give Taro the world, as he has always done the upmost to support and advocate for me throughout my transition and health struggles, and without him, I don’t think I’d be here.

As a disabled trans person living solely off of benefits, I cannot support him financially as much as he needs, hence why I have created this GFM to raise funds to help Taro look after his health and wellbeing.

He has been struggling to cope with depression and gender dysphoria for years, and much of this is connected to having limited access to gender affirming healthcare/ mental health support and the financial stresses of having lost his job, due to depression.

He has been quietly trying to keep afloat on benefits alongside doing S3x W0rk, but as anyone on benefits can tell you, it just barely allows you to get by, and he is unable to work as often as necessary, because of his health and capacity. On top of that, he is struggling to stay on top of credit card repayments after his bank cut off their support scheme, and he has also been having to self fund his HRT because of medical negligence from his GP.

The funds raised from this fundraiser will help Taro:

- cover one month of rent/utilities

- continue to access therapy sessions *he currently is getting 3 free sessions, which are then charged at £60 each thereafter, so I’d like to prevent him from having to stop therapy due to lack of funds)

- pay off some of his credit card debt

- continue to self-medicate until he is able to access a bridging prescription

Capitalism sucks, and I know very well what it is like to be let down by broken systems, but the generosity of our community before has been so healing and honestly life changing; so thank you in advance for looking out for both me and Taro <3
