My step-mom, Tracy Cowan (spouse of Stephen Corkum) is the proud mother & stepmom of four amazing children and the grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren (Gabrielle & Jonah).
She was also a beloved and successful English teacher who touched the lives of so many students.
Her love and compassion for those around her has been endless.
Although Tracy has faced more than her fair share of challenges, she has never let them define her.
Years ago, Tracy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which was the first major turning point in her life.
Despite this, she faced every day with strength and grace.
Then came her battle with cancer—she fought through 30 grueling rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and a final surgery to treat anal cancer.
Just when we discovered she had conquered that fight, we have received devastating news that the cancer has spread to her liver (with 10 cancerous lesions) and she is now considered stage 4 metastatic cancer.
Doctors have offered 4 more months of intense chemotherapy followed by liver surgery, but the likelihood of success is dim & uncertain...
The treatment would leave Tracy very ill, drastically diminishing her quality of life without any guarantees.
Instead, our family—She, her husband, Steve, her two sons (Colin and Devan), my sister Megan, and I—have decided to pursue naturopathy.
This holistic approach aims to boost Tracy's overall health and well-being, focusing on diet, lifestyle changes, holistic supplements, and reducing stress, rather than invasive treatments in the hope that her body will heal itself.
Naturopathic care gives Tracy time for healing, hope for a longer future, and the chance to spend her remaining time with us in a way that is more peaceful and comfortable. However, much of this treatment is not covered by insurance and we need to raise $15,000 to make it possible.
Tracy is a strong, loving, and caring person who has always given her best to those around her.
Now, she needs our help.
Any donation, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would also be a tremendous help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this difficult time.
With gratitude,
