Help Tony Black Fight Cancer

On October 1, 2017, Tony Black shared his recent diagnosis of cancer with the local community. Since then he has been through a whirlwind of doctors visits and tests. This is what he has learned. He has stage 4A keratinizing squamous-cell cancer in his throat and lymph nodes.

The treatment path that has been scheduled is for three rounds of chemotherapy (Cisplatin) once a week, every three weeks in conjunction with radiation treatments 5 days a week for 7 weeks, getting a break for holidays. This is an aggressive treatment which is intended to remove the tumor and keep his voice. "The battle," as Tony said, "may be long and hard but the cancer is conquerable!"

Here are some things about Tony you may not be aware of today. Throughout his life he worked with various ministries, including being a Pastor to several churches. He is a leader in his community, teaching and mentoring like-minded individuals. He is a rescuer and has given homes to countless unwanted animals of all species. He is a caregiver to three very different people who have been a inspiration to him and his journey. Periodically he also shares his home with those less fortunate and helps them back to their feet. Tony also cares for his elderly mother of 90 years. He is her only point of contact to the outside world besides the TV. He cares for and holds together his chosen family with one of the biggest hearts out there. 

He has given his time, talents, and tithes to all that has needed him. Now, it is our time to give back to this caring loving man that has touched so many in his life.
