Help Toñita Heal

Our wonderful friend, curandera, and comadre, Toñita, was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer. Over the past six months, she has been very private about her illness as she's gone through numerous doctor's appointments, procedures, tests, and now is scheduled to have her right kidney removed in early November. 

After her surgery, Toñita will be unable to work, see patients, or earn any income while she recuperates for at least six months. Additionally, she will have numerous medical bills due to the surgery and additional treatments post surgery. 

We are asking her circle of family and friends to consider making a donation to support Toñita as she recovers post surgery. With your help and contribution, she can focus her energies on healing her body, resting her mind, and recovering without additional stress! Toñita has done so much for so many, let's come together and help give her the gift of healing, recovery and tranquility through this process.

To Healing Community,
I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work with all our amazing comadres and compadres. It truly has been a honor to work with our Albuquerque Community. There are many stories, and experiences that have happened these pasts few years. My heart is overflowing with Gratitude. I am grateful for all the learning, especially from the different types of teachers, from female to male, from babies to elders, from the sea to the land, from animals and plants, from other cities, states and countries.
When I started this path of healing it was a journey about healing myself, and then I was called to helping people heal with traditional medicine. This was important for me because of my culture, and to honor my ancestors. Traditional ways of healing is what I needed to change my life, and it inspired me to teach others, so they can share learned wisdom and return the knowledge to communities. Teaching healing is not about band aids, but instead about listening, faith, indigenous science, and ceremonies.
As many of you may have heard, these past couple of years have been challenging, and beautiful at the same time. Our family has received many blessings. One challenge that we face now, is my Journey of healing with Kidney Cancer. I will he having my second surgery to remove my right kidney as it has two large tumors. These past of couple of months have left me with time to do a lot of reflecting and gratitude. In my prayer, contemplation, and self reflection, I feel the cancer has pushed me further in my healing, especially in my discernment, and spirituality. I am proud to say that this past August I completed/graduated from the Center for Action and Contemplation: The Living School. This has opened a yearning to continue my contemplative journey with Creator, and allow Creator to guide me.
During these past few months, I have had several tests and doctors appointment, this has caused me to be not as attentive to my emails, or phone calls, but I ask forgiveness if I have let you down, it was not my intention. Many have asked me what do I need? Truth is I need your prayers for me and my family, and your love and light. I also would like to announce that effective immediately I am announcing that I will be going on a 6 month sabbatical for time to heal my mind, body and spirit. I appreciate your understanding of the time I need to heal. As we are reminded by healing teachers, we need to take care of ourselves before we can effectively help others.
